'Nuse Shqiptare'- Albanian Wife/Bride
A typical, traditional Albanian wife would be a stay home woman, who would primarily take care of the children, the husband, the house, the cooking and the cleaning.
Although that has changed during the past 5 years, there are still millions of Albanian wives that follow the old tradition of being a stay home mom/wife.
An Albanian woman is expected to keep her children and her house in order. She is responsible of making sure that the kids are educated properly, feed, kept clean and neat, without ever complaining or requesting help from others. She is also responsible for making sure that the house is always kept as clean as possible just in case of any unexpected visitors. After all, the most embarrassing thing for most Albanian women is to have guests find their house dirty (because most likely those guests will let everybody else out there know about how dirty their house was).
I personally try my best to keep my house clean during all times. However, so far I don’t have any children or pets to make a mess, so it hasn’t been that difficult to keep clean. But I must admit right now it’s 11:17 and I do have a few dishes in my sink that need to be washed, however, right now I’m too busy writing this blog =)
Albanian housewives are also expected to make meals for everybody in the house. They are suppose to always cook lunch and dinner (and it better be a good hell of a meal, because if it isn’t she will most definitely get lots of complains). Plus, for those of you who think she should at least be appreciated or get thanked for it; forget about it, she isn’t getting a “thank you”, because that’s her responsibility.
Basically they are responsible of everything that has to do with cleaning, cooking, and feeding her family. She is also supposed to be respectful, trust-worthy, faithful, responsible, understanding, sweet, and smart.
In other words, traditional Albanian housewives are expected to be loyal, smart, and capable of doing anything to protect and serve their family.
P.S- I should go and do my dishes .
